GSSSB Municipal Engineer Recruitment 2026-27: Apply Online for 50 Class-3 Posts

The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar, has issued an official recruitment notification (Advt No. 440/202627) for the direct recruitment of Municipal Engineer, Class-3 under the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department (Office of the Commissionerate of Municipality Administration). A total of 50 vacancies are open for eligible candidates.

Note: 10% of the total vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen as per government rules. Reserved slots for PwBD candidates will be announced separately under a special recruitment drive.

Salary Details

• Fixed Pay (First 5 Years): ₹49,600 per month.
• Regular Pay Scale (Post 5 Years): Level-7 (₹39,900 – ₹1,26,600) upon satisfactory completion of service.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology (or equivalent recognized degree in related branches like Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resource Management, Urban Planning, Town Planning, etc., as specified in the notification) from a recognized University/Institution.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed by government rules.
• Language Proficiency: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, or both.

2. Age Limit (As on August 10, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 35 Years

Upper Age Relaxation:

• General Women: 5 Years (up to max 40 years)
• Reserved Category Men (SEBC / EWS / SC / ST): 5 Years (up to max 40 years)
• Reserved Category Women: 10 Years (up to max 45 years)
• PwBD Candidates: 10 to 20 Years (depending on category, up to max 45 years)
• Ex-Servicemen: Defense service period + 3 Years

Selection Process

Selection will be made through a single-stage Competitive Examination (CBRT / OMR Based) comprising two parts:

• Negative Marking: 1/4 (0.25) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Qualifying Standard: Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks independently in Part-A and Part-B to qualify.
• Document Verification: Candidates clearing the test will be called for Document Verification (DV) in a ratio of approximately 1:2 based on merit.

Application Fee

• Unreserved (General): ₹500
• Reserved Categories (SEBC, EWS, SC, ST, All Female, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen): ₹400
• Fee Refund: The examination fee will be refunded to candidates who actually appear for the exam. Non-attendees will not receive a refund.
• Payment Mode: Online (Net Banking, Debit Card, UPI, Wallets).

2. Click on Online Application and Apply and select GSSSB.
3. Find Advertisement No. 440/202627 (Municipal Engineer, Class-3) and click Apply Now.
4. Fill out the application form carefully (Personal, Educational, and Category details).
5. Upload scanned copies of your passport-size photo (with white background) and signature.
6. Confirm the application to generate your Confirmation Number.
7. Pay the applicable exam fee online on the portal using your Confirmation Number and Date of Birth.
8. Print and preserve a copy of the confirmed application form and payment receipt for future reference.
